Burma:

Khine Khine Oo is a young lady with an incredible faith.  Her family disowned her after she become a Christian.  Instead of denying her faith and rejoining her family she faced an very uncertain future, believing that her saviour had a better plan for her life.  Her faith and joy can be an inspiration to all Christians.

Q: What is new with your life?

A:  In February I finished the ninth grade by the grace of God.  I am still staying at my pastors home.  They take good care of me and I feel loved and cared for there.

Q:  What are your plans for the future?

A:  My future plans are to graduate high school.  Then I want to study at Bible school and serve the Lord as much as I can to reach my family and those around me for Christ.

Q:  What would you like to tell people who gave money to help you?

A:  I would like to say to them thank you so much and please continue to support me in order to finish high school.

Q:  What is your greatest joy in serving Jesus?

A:  I really enjoy in prayer meeting and worship service with other believers.  I am still young and relative new believer so my duties are small right now.

Q:  Is there any other Christian around you that is inspiration to your faith?

A:  Yes, my pastor Zaw Ja is very good to me and Dr. Ram (another area pastor) also  visits and prays with me.  We also have other youth leaders who are a real encouragement and they pray for me. So, I feel strong in faith and I would love to work with them as much as I can in the future.

Q:  How can people pray for you?

A:  Please pray that I can do very well in high school and then go on to complete Bible college.  Pray also that my family and relatives will accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Q: How much would the church be strengthened if Christians in restricted nations could be trained and educated to become pastors, church planters and teachers?

A: We believe the answer is that practical Christian education in restricted nations is invaluable in strengthening the church and spreading the gospel.

Focus supports many young Christians like Khine (see side bar interview) by providing a practical Christian education.   To qualify, these young people have to have been persecuted for their faith and demonstrate a great desire to spread the gospel.

Keep in mind that many young (often times poor) Christians in these nations don’t have an opportunity for a full education, let alone a Christian based education.

Often on their own, without support of their family, they are forced to take underpaid jobs just to survive.  They end up serving in the church as best they can---never reaching their full potential for Jesus or the gospel.

Their education is a wonderful way for the body of Christ to show their love and appreciation for standing up for Jesus and remaining strong in the faith during persecution.  At the same time the church will be strengthened by gaining an fully educated pastor, evangelist or teacher after they graduate.
